It's nice having Mondays off... everyone else is at work and all the good driving roads are wide open. My road of choice is Mt. Hamilton Road (CA-130), east of San Jose, CA. It's a 4,000+ foot climb to the top, stretched over about 20 miles of tight twisties, and it's the highest point in the Bay Area. Caltrans just paved most of the upper section of the road, so its super smooth and great to drive on.

Over on the Peninsula, everyone knows about Alice's, the local driver/biker spot on Skyline Blvd. On this side of the bay, we have !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , which isn't nearly as well known. Continue another 30 minutes down the back side of Mt. Hamilton, and you'll end up in the middle of nowhere, literally, in San Antonio Valley. That's where you'll find The Junction, where CA-130 meets Mines Road from Livermore and Del Puerto Canyon Road from Patterson. It's at least 45 minutes from the nearest civilization. I highly recommended it if you have half a day to kill in the south/east Bay Area!

man. That weather looks so nice. We've really only had two days north of 0F this month so far.

that looks awesome - I'm a sucker for a view, even better when you get twisties going up.

Oh thats the one by the observatory. I have wanted to take my Z there and then all the way out to I-5. I have to wait until I get some other stuff done on the car before I go. I live north of SF so I don't get over there often.

"Mt. Ham" is an AWESOME road, can't wait to return.

Two weekends ago my friends and I went on a cruise around the 84/Skyline area. Stopped at Alice's for lunch.

If you're a fan double-black-diamond twisties, (and based off of your selection I presume you are) be sure to give Alpine Road a whirl. It's on the other side of Skyline from the better-known Page Mill Rd. The stuff of dreams.

Just Google mapped Alpine Rd, looks awesome. I haven't been out there in a few months, so I'll have to try that.

You don't happen to attend SJSU do you? There's an f30 that looks exactly like yours on campus that I always see in the garage.
